Is there anything more exciting than planning a trip to somewhere you haven't been before?? I love this!!
Last night, Rick and I booked our flights, had to change around some of our accommodation plans and planned our Eurail routes through Europe.
So far, our itinerary looks as follows:
December 16th
Fly to Paris on Sunday night
December 17th
Arrive in Paris, take first train to Nice, book into hotel and travel to Monaco for the evening.
December 18th to 22nd
Catch the early morning train from Nice to Milan and have lunch in Milan. We'll then take a speed train from Milan to Rome, where we will be staying at a cute little hotel that used to be a farmhouse on the outskirts of Rome for 4 nights.
December 22nd to 24th
Travel to Florence and spend two nights and three days here
December 24th to 26th
Travel via Milan to Interlaken in Switzerland, hoping for a white Christmas so we can make some snow angels and enjoy a slay ride or two :-) We will be visiting the lake near Luzern and are seriously hoping to go up the Jungfrau if they are open on the 24th or 25th
December 26th
Travel to Lausanne, book into our hotel and take a scenic train route to Geneva for the day
December 27th
Travel to Paris, where we will be spending a wonderful 5 nights including New Years (sooooooo excited about this!!) Definitely on the to do list is
- The Eiffel Tower (duh)
- The Moulin Rouge
- The Louvre (don't think Rick is too excited about this one...not really a big fan of museums)
- Notre Dame Cathedral
- Visiting the Palace of Versaille
January 1st
On the plane back to Johannesburg
I am sure there will be a million more on our to-do-and-to-see list by the time our plane takes off, but for now, this will do... Have you visited any of these countries? Any recommendations or tips? Please share via a comment or two, it will be much appreciated xXx
