In The Spirit Of Procrastination

My ideal Saturday morning would most definitely not be spent indoors studying...but, as luck would have it...here I am, confined to the diningroom table, aka 'My Study'.

As it is quite impossible for me to study on an empty stomach...and in the spirit of procrastination, I put together one yummy breakfast x

Road Trip through the Kalahari

I was so fortunate to go road tripping through the Kalahari last week with one awesome group of friends...

We were travelling to Namibia to go canoeing down the Orange River, something I can recommend to anyone who is adventurous, loves the outdoors and who likes the idea of sleeping outside under the stars. Wish I could take pictures of those stars, but unfortunately that goes beyond my photographic skills :)

With me I took my digital camera and three disposable cameras...the digital camera used mostly on the road trip, the disposable cameras used on the river. Can't wait to see how those photos turned out! Will hopefully
get to blog about them soon!

Here are some of my favourite photos of the road trip, edited with Snapseed x

Chocoholic Feast

Chocolate Pear Tart & Cherry Blossoms - via Mowielicious

Feast your eyes with chocolate and cherry blossoms (two of my favourite things)! I sure am x

Hope I get to make it this Easter...for the recipe, click here.

If this wasn't satisfying enough, check out Mowiekay's food photography portfolio here.

Jewelry Crush

I'm not a big fan of big, chunky jewelry, and over the years I have grown to love small delicate, individual pieces of jewelry that I can make my own. The two collections of rings by Ayako Kanari and Michelle Oh are absolutely breathtaking!! x I want them all!!

KOTTON KNIT >> REPOST

the first and last time i knitted anything, was when I was 7 years old and visiting my grandmother for the holidays. i had gotten one of those wooden 'knitting' dolls (have no idea what they are called) with those pins sticking out of her head. my gran taught me how to knit with the doll, but all I ended up with was a long, thick, colourful string of wool...not too exciting.

this, however, is some awesome inspiration to start knitting again. my super talented friend cornelia edwards (previously featured in my "love to brag" blog post) made these cute knits, which were selected as second runner-up in woolworths' sustainable product design awards...sooo cool! x

We Love WeWOOD

"One Watch - One Tree - One Planet"

I came across a photo of this watch over the weekend when a friend from school posted her WeWOOD timepiece on Facebook...and I am crazy about it!!!!

For every WeWOOD watch bought, a tree is planted...how cool is that?

"WeWOOD lets us rediscover nature in its beauty, its simplicity and inspired design. It reminds us of a tree's powerful way of life; rooted, yet reaching. Completely absent of artificial and toxic materials, the WeWOOD Timepiece is as natural as your wrist. It respects your skin as you respect nature by choosing it. Your WeWOOD Watch breathes the same air that you breathe and may awaken memories from another time and place.Your WeWOOD watch records your sensations and shares your experiences as the perfect natural mate, whose story also becomes yours to wear, smell and feel."

Love for Tamarillo

I was visiting a cute little shop/gallery Fient Lifestyle Gallery,  at the Duncan Yard in Pretoria a few weeks ago with Rick, when I saw this collection of Tamarillo crockery. It was milky blue with images of the Karoo on them...I immediately fell in love and would have bought the whole set if my bank balance allowed for it! Unfortunately...it did not, so now I will need to save up and buy the set piece by piece :)

See for yourself...so lovely!!!! x

Coolest mugs! Want them in blue...
