LET'S PRETEND

Nobody said it was going to be easy. Actually everyone knows it's hard. But still... when you don't pass an exam, which you really studied hard for, you feel stupid. Anyway. Let's pretend I didn't write the exam. Let's pretend I am on a really long holiday, somewhere where I can feel the sun on my face, a sea breeze in my hair and see the sun go down every single magnificent day. Let's pretend we're beach bums where exams are something nobody has ever heard of. Who's with me?

ART APPRECIATION >> THREE

I am almost done with my first painting, and hope to share it with all of you on the blog in the next few weeks.

I finally managed to tick everything off my art supplies list yesterday. I really struggled to get hold of the specific brand of brushes recommended by my art teacher. She mostly uses Art Board brushes, since they are of good quality and very affordable. However, I could not find them at Jimnettes in Lynnwood or Herbert Evans in Rosebank.  So Archneers in Hatfield was my last hope, and they did not disappoint. I was so overwhelmed by everything in there that I walked out with one very full bag of supplies, most of which may not have been on that list. Heehee.

In the spirit of inspiration and looking for beautiful images to turn into pieces of art, here are some of my favourites.

This is by far one of the coolest images I've seen this week. So adorable!

By looking at this collection you have probably figured out I am a very neutral person, right? Right! =)

SAY IT

in my every week life, mondays are always the busiest and most dreaded day of the week, filled with post-weekend blues, jam-packed highways and a busy workday. it always leaves me feeling extremely tired and ready for the next weekend.

last monday was very different.  as i opened my inbox, i had this beautiful email waiting for me from my best friend and it transformed my possibly dull and boring monday into a wonderful day.

let me just say that reading this email made me realise how powerful words really are. sure, the people in your life may know that you care about them, but you should never fail to say it to them as often as possible. it's great to know that someone knows and sees you for who you really are, with all your quirks, and loves you for them.

FEATURED - CERAMICA BOTANICA

today i would like to share with you all some beauoootiful ceramics all the way from san antonio, texas.  the artist, susan rodriguez, has been working with clay for about twenty years and crafts these stunning individual pieces in her own backyard clay studio.  i am in love with every single bowl, platter, vase plate and cup, with the colors and patterns just begging for attention, don't you think?  plus, all her pieces are food safe and meant to be used everyday in your home and on your dinner table.

if you're a sucker like me, visit her ceramicabotanica etsy store, and make sure your plastic friend (aka your credit card) is readily available.
